  1. Hi,

New to this forum. I run into some problem with margins of SSA format, please help.

The document states: MarginL: This defines the Left Margin in pixels. It is the distance from the left-hand edge of the screen.

But from my experience these are really not in pixels. For example, I have a 1916 X 800 video, when I set left and right margin to 298 (which is suitable for my mobile phone), it only shows a single column in the middle with only one word each row. It shouldn't be like that if it's 298 pixels from the left edge. 298 pixels only should take a small portion of the 1916 width.

Could anyone help? Do I understand it wrong?

    Thanks!

The script dimensions need to match the actual video dimensions for the margins to be in video pixels.

Open the SSA script in a text editor. In the [Script Info] header at the top look for PlayResX and PlayResY. Note that this will probably throw off all your formattings you have made so far (namely text size).
