  1. I have some MP4 video files that I want to convert to MOV so I can work with them in Final Cut Express.
My video's are 29.96 FPS, and when I used Free-Video-Converter, I was getting a choppy video that had only
    5.20 FPS.
Can anyone give me advice on what the settings should be.
Or tell me about another free video conversion program, and give me a detailed explanation of what settings I should use?
    Thanks

    In the program Free-Video-Converter
I have an HD MOV video preset
then for the video should I encode with MPEG-4 or H.264.
    Bit Rate options: 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000, 10000, 12000, 15000, 18000.
    FPS: 20, 23.975, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 60.

  2. Generally, you stay with the framerate of your source.

Please tell us about your Macbook Pro (?), OS version, ram, processor. Also tell us why you are using 7-year-old EOL software. Without that information any other suggestions are highly speculative.
