Hello, I am new on this forum. I am experiencing a problem with my video files.
I was on a trip with my GoPro and the memory card was corrupted. I managed to recover the files (photos and videos) but unfortunately, when I try to open the video files, they won't even open. I tried with many media players, I also tried to rename the extensions... nothing. Is it possible to repair or analyze the files? These videos are very precious to us, can anyone please help!?
Thank you,
Guillaume G.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Try video repair tool. Select a working video file and the damaged one.
And I would also try different file recover tools. -
Thanks for your answer. I tried to repair with the tool you suggested me. If I copy the scan result, do you think you can help me with it? I don't know much about all this!

DId you get any working video file? If not then it wont work.

Well, I tested two damaged files. One won't open but I have the scan report. The other one works fairly (Some clean images with lag and then stops)....

This is what I got from the file I can't open
Repair session information
Input file: F:\Gopro please\File0663.MOV (229376 bytes)
Reference file: F:\Ninh Binh\GOPR9483.MP4

Entropy scan results
Your complete input file has been analysed in small blocks, and the entropy results show which blocks may contain video data (and which may not). A value less than 0.6 typically means that there is definitively no video data in that block, a value greater than 0.6 means it may contain video data.
start block (KB) - end (KB) -- entropy (must be higher than 0.6 for video data)

Your complete input file has been analysed for video data and this shows the amount of data found. Note: If no data was found (or less than expected), the entropy scan result above can give you an explanation why no (or not enough) data was found.

Just for future reference, using multiple players and renaming files/extensions is unnecessary. If a file doesn't work, test in a single standalone player such as VLC. If it doesn't open in VLC, it's generally trash. VLC can play most anything, even damaged files.
The first file is missing data in the beginning of the file:
start block (KB) - end (KB) -- entropy (must be higher than 0.6 for video data)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[NOTICE] entropy 0 - 22 -- 0.217547
[NOTICE] entropy 22 - 44 -- 0
[NOTICE] entropy 44 - 66 -- 0
[NOTICE] entropy 66 - 88 -- 0
[NOTICE] entropy 88 - 110 -- 0.751336
The second file, has data, but that doesn't mean the data isn't corrupted.
As they won't play, and can't be repaired, I'd suspect they are lost. As they are mov files, you could give QuickTime Pro a shot.Google is your Friend
