Pioneer 104 (A04) and Ulead DVD MovieFactory

I can burn DVD's using MovieFactory with no problem on the DVD 104 (once the autorun had been disengaged). However, I can't burn SVCD's onto CD's through the this software.

AT 'initialising disk' the system hangs with just the busy light on the DVD burner remaining on. It appears that MovieFactory doesn't actually recognise the 104 as a CD burner as well as DVD - at least that's my guess

I have no problem using my HP9710 burning SVCD through MovieFactory.

Any thoughts?

you tried svcd under Nero with the Pioneer ?

Yup. I took off the Adaptec software (EasyCD etc) but it wouldn't uninstall fully (something wrong with the uninstaller). Put on Nero 5.8.8.0 - same problem.

Took the 104 to a friend who has exactly the same set up but with the AO3 but has never used the Adaptec software - no problems. Burns CDs well.

Something is getting left behind with the Adptec sofware that is preventing the 104 burning CDs.

Nero and Adaptec both install their own low level suffs,
and they can't live with each other.

I installed them on disk in pull out drawer to seperate them.
But if you have Nero, why bother with adaptec ?

Nero does not trash the system. EZCD does, that why he's better off running force aspi or using a later build of Nero, like 5.5.7.8 or 5.5.8.0.
