i have a large amount of mkv and avi files and some are faulty, is there any software free or paid for which i can get to test all my files for video corruption.

Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Yep. Best one is a video player. They either play or they don't.
Define 'corruption'. Pixelation, stuttering, dropped frames... etc, etc, etc?
What are you trying to trace? -
mkvalidator (http://www.matroska.org/downloads/mkvalidator.html) can check basic headers of mkv files,...
