  1. So Im trying to join two AVIs with VirtualDub and first I have to make sure the audio streams are the same sampling rate. Now I took the first one, set compression to MP3 192kb/s and conversion to 48000, saved it and did the same with the other one.

    Shouldn't this mean that they now have the same sampling rate and I can therefore join them? Well thats what I thought but it still gives me an error message saying the audio streams have different sampling rates.

    What am I missing?

    Open the first video, set Video Direct stream copy.
    Set Audio > Compression > No compression and save the video.
    Repeat for the second video.
    Append the new videos and set Video > Direct stream copy;set Audio > Compression and choose a compressor.
