Hi,
I need to convert a mpeg stream from a cctv camera into a mjpeg stream so
that openalpr can take it and capture information from the image, can you
think of the easiest way to do this?
I am using a windows 7 host pc with openalpr running on a Ubuntu virtualbox. So maybe if I can take the mpeg stream and retransmit it in mjpeg using something that can be given an ip address, that would be great...unless there are better ways of doing it (I am not a seasoned programmer remember though)
Many thanks,
Steve
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Not sure - i dont trust SUPER - seem it is bloated adware/uknownware pack
At first you can try use VLC - it have interface to try things in interactive way.
ffmpeg :

https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/EncodingForStreamingSites
first try to display your stream, later to stream something that can be displayed on client and at final stage combine both methods - should work. -
This program is designed to pull license plates ... if you cannot see them during playback then openalpr is a waste of time.
Only through better positioning of high grade cameras will you be able to obtain those details.
Playing back via the host program you can take app screen shots which is quicker rather that trying to figure out what it is your converting from ... you need to tell us what the recording system is and any associated web links to manufacturers website where software players can be obtained ... from this we can tell you what you need in order to convert from one format to another
Again, if during playback you can not tell the license plate then no program is ever going to be able to pull the info.
