Doesn't do much for me as I can barely watch 720 vids in 30p. DSL too slow here and phone company has no plans to upgrade our service.

It's good because you get a better video when you download it. They should've done this years ago, so I wouldn't of had upload 60p videos as 30p.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
would it be possible to upload interlaced video at 59.94 field per sec. ?

Might be a good idea to upload 2 files: 1st @ 59.94, and 2nd, the same file you would have prepared adjusting the FR to exactly 60 (and time compressing the audio to maintain sync). If they both look the same, and both play at exactly 60, we're good. if they both look good, but have different FRs, we're still good. Only if the 59.94 doesn't look as good as the 60 will there be future consumer problems.

Thank you Sony by force Youtube to get 60fps.
A month ago I had already downloaded 2 videos at 59.94 (videos games and commented about it on the youtube page).
Using the PS4 share button, Youtube saw the need to change.
I already have some videos from my PS4 and Xbox One recorded but only upload when is already 60fps mode.
My NET TV will make 4k TV test on my city.
I hope to be chosen for test this.
The problem is not have 4K capture card, yet.Last edited by Cauptain; 28th Jun 2014 at 06:41.

It doesn't work with the video from the first post:
Code:General Complete name : G:\Down\Titanfall Gameplay at 60fps (High Frame Rate EXCLUSIVE!!).mp4 Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : Base Media / Version 2 Codec ID : mp42 File size : 80.0 MiB Duration : 3mn 30s Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 3 195 Kbps Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L3.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 1 frame Format settings, GOP : M=1, N=60 Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 3mn 30s Bit rate : 3 000 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 4 602 Kbps Width : 1 280 pixels Height : 720 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 30.000 fps

Download 1080p not 720p

OK, it also works with Youtube-dl when forcing it to download the DASH format.
But for some reason the file is using variable FPS, and it's not because of the combination of video + audio by ffmpeg since the DASH video only stream is already like that:
Code:General Complete name : G:\Down\Titanfall Gameplay at 60fps (High Frame Rate EXCLUSIVE!!).f137.mp4 Format : dash Codec ID : dash File size : 138 MiB Duration : 3mn 29s Overall bit rate : 5 512 Kbps Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4.2 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 3 frames Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 3mn 29s Bit rate : 5 504 Kbps Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Variable Frame rate : 60.000 fps Minimum frame rate : 59.920 fps Maximum frame rate : 90.543 fps

I was able to download both 720p60 and 1080p60 files using Complete Youtube Saver in Firefox.

60fps would be great for de-interlaced videos - that is, if people do it correctly.
I hate VHS. I always did. -
You're hijacking the YouTube 60fps thread to ask the very basics of how to deinterlace in Avisynth?
Bob() will do what you're asking. It's the simplest (and lowest quality). Then there are the smart bobbers, all the way up to QTGMC. A simple search should come up with a myriad of threads about the various deinterlacers out there.
I guess upscaling is also required for this to work? Of course, it's recommended for YouTube uploads anyway since they don't give enough bitrate for SD content. -
