  1. I have an LG blu-ray disc player on my computer (Windows 7 64 bit) and wish to view bluray discs. I am finding that the player only will play back regular DVDs and not blu-ray discs. I was told that is due to Windows not supporting blu-ray playback. What is the best software package available to playback blu-ray movies on a Windows computer?

    Thanks!

"Windows not supporting BD playback" is a red herring. Of course it supports it, as long as all the components of the infrastructure are in place:

    1. UDF v 2.60 driver
    2. BDMV and BD-J compliant playback application
    3. MPEG2, AVC & VC-1 decoders (HD-capable versions)
    4. The various audio decoders
    5. An HDCP-compliant playback+display path (or non-encrypted source material) & drivers

If you get Cyberlink PowerDVD or Corel WinDVD or ArcSoft TMT, it should come with all those pieces in the install.

If you are trying to get by with a free way of playing back, you'll have to find those drivers individually, and replace #2 with a more basic M2TS-reading app.
