  1. Using Pinnacle Studio 14 I am creating avi movies, which cannot be played by (i) a Thompson TV and (ii) by a media center player. How can I change settings in Pinnacle Studio 14 to create playable videos?

    Avi movies?
What video and audio codec can you choose in pinnacle?

I would try use avi with divx or xvid video and mp3 audio. Those work on most media players.

  3. Hello,

sure I could try to use avi with divx or xvid video and mp3 audio. But I do not find the place where to change that in Pinnacle Studio 14! Where can I change such settings...?

Can you only choose avi? No video codec?

Try also mp4 with h264 video.

And if you can't select anything in pinnacle then convert again with something else.

  5. Look in your manual under "Output to File" and in the appendix under "Make File Settings." The documentation is spectacularly unintuitive, but it will show you which buttons to push.

The two most "universal" video formats are Mpeg2 and X264.
