Excuse me for a question which may sound a bit basic but I am brand new to this (and fortunately won't be editing this DVD ... but need to plan the structure of it).
I am wondering if it is possible when editing video footage (and place on a DVD) to do the following:
Have the following chapters:
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Chapter 5
PLUS, have the ability for the user to select their option on the DVD itself:
- Click box 1
- Click box 2
- Click box 3
PLUS, ensure:
- Box 1 plays chapter 1, 3 and 5 only (and completely ignore chapters 2 and 4)
- Box 2 plays chapter 1, 4 and 5 only (and completely ignore chapters 2 and 3)
- Box 3 plays chapter 2 and 3 only (and completely ignores chapters 1, 4 and 5).
Is this possible please?
Thanks very much in advance.

Some DVD authoring software has the ability to create chapter playlists which will handle your "PLUS" items. This is not random, however.
Adobe Encore, Sony DVD Architect, DVD Lab Pro, (possibly TMPGenc Authoring works) come to mind.
Actual random playback is a function of the player not the disk, -
Yes DVDStyler can do that. It has a scripting language that allows you to perform comparisions like if-then-else.
I made this in another thread which might give you the gest of it.
