I frequently need to convert, and sometimes edit, TS video files to MP4 format. I have been using Freemake Video Converter to do this but often find that the sound ends up considerably out of sync with the picture.

I've recently tried MCEBuddy 2.3 and whilst this seems to solve the sync problem, it does not provide any editing facility.

Can anyone please suggest a programme (preferably freeware) that would solve both problems?

    Many thanks.

    Try VidCoder for just converting.

If you also want to edit try Avidemux, Video to Video Converter (under tools for editing).

Thanks. I had not come across Video to Video Converter before and it certainly seems to handle the conversion process well and with no sync problems!

However, it seems to want to convert all my 16:9 videos to 4:3 using it's 'auto' setting. Is there any way to make it stick with 'keep original' as it's a pain to have to remember to reset it every time?

And, which option do you use for editing?
