    Hi,

Is there a MKV cutter which only cuts a part of a file. For e.g. I want to cut an action scene from a movie for 3 mins. MKVMerge is good for remuxing but i find it taxing for this purpose. Is there an alternative?
    Don't need a converter/encoder just a cutter/splitter for MKV files.

    Thanks much.

MKV (H.264) and most other highly compressed formats are not very good for editing, especially if you want frame-accurate editing.
To avoid sync problems you would need to edit on a keyframe and those are very widely spaced in the H.264 format, sometimes 10 seconds or more.
You could try AVIDemux. Or try some of our other editors in: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/video-editors-h264-avc

I added a mirror download to your great MKV Cutter. Even if it's alpha. I hope it's okey.
