    Hi,

I have a folder HDR with 4 files in it.

    00_0001_2014-03-23_134821.IDX
    00_0001_2014-03-23_134821.M2T
    00_0001_2014-03-23_141006.M2T
    00_0001_2014-03-23_143151.M2T
    tracks.dat

When I take them direct into the timeline to join and edit them, there is an audio silence and frame blanks.

Trouble the blanks are not at the same places.

I have tried cut and do all things to join them but I always get a slight video frame jump when i line up the audie correctly.

This is a live show done HD on a Sony Pro camera which I do not know the model.

I have tried it in Sony Vegas Pro, Magix Video-X, Media Studio8, Power Director 12.

I also tried tsMuxR latest version bub it will not add the files.

    I am on XP.

Any ideas to help me join then please?

Well I found out about MPEG Stream Clip so am about to try this. It needs Quicktime Alternative 1.81. version only which I have installed.

I have input the 3 m2t clips in and they seem to preview as 1 clip however I am not sure as to exporting the result.

I want the best quality for both sound and vision.

I have chosen avi rather than mpeg but am stumped on the compression type. There are many options..

    Any guidance please/

make a txt file myfiles.txt and enter the foll.
    Code:
    file '00_0001_2014-03-23_134821.M2T'
    file '00_0001_2014-03-23_141006.M2T'
    file '00_0001_2014-03-23_143151.M2T'
    path may be absolute.

and just run this code on ffmpeg
    Code:
    ffmpeg -f concat -i mylist.txt -c copy output.m2t

I'm assuming that the video and audio which you want to join are all present in those 3 m2t files , and
00_0001_2014-03-23_134821.IDX and TRACKS.DAT files are not usefule here.

The proper way to join the files is load the first one into tsmuxergui and then for the additional files use the join button, ignore the idx and dat files since there are not needed.

The idx is usually used with .sub for subtitles, the dat file could be for anything else.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

QUESTION: Will that deal with negative audio delays in appended files properly? ie without inserting blank video frames...

  6. Did you try importing the whole folder structure into Vegas rather than the individual files? The .dat file may very well be instructional metadata on how the files are to be joined.

OP specified that the negative audio delays were encountered when the files were appended using other softwares.
In case of ffmpeg, if theres no such delay in source, then I guess the output will be fine too.

Ya you should try this because the .dat file would give some hint to Vegas

Many many thanks guys for the time and help.

I eventually found that MPEG_StreamClip with Alternative Quicktime 1.8.1 did the job beautifully.

Just added the 3 M2T files and it showed a ts file which I save and have used it on the timeline of Power Director and Magix Video-X4 successfully.

So it looks that is now fine altho' who knows

BTW Yes I did add ALL the files the IDX and the dat before I found Streamclip but still no go.

I didn't have to go to what was suggested by ndjamena, as I had found Streamclip before I read it.

I have noticed my Cubase doesn't open now when it's trying to load Quicktime at startup, so I guess the Alternative isn't going to help that, but I'll open another thread to deal with this different issue.

Once again guys, always wonderful help when needed.

Well didn't open a new thread as I just downloaded the free QT Alternative 3.2.2 and Cubase now works fine. I have been told though that one HAS to use 1.8.1. to use MPEG_Streamclip. so have it standing by.

So this too is now [SOLVED].
