I have a customer who for whatever reason is having trouble with a DVD he purchased, and is requesting to be able to download video files so he can watch them. What's the easiest fastest way to take the data off the DVD and share it with him from perhaps just an Amazon S3 bucket?

You can use Vob2mpg and share the mpg. Or make an iso file from the dvd if you want to share the complete dvd. Play them with VLC Media player.

Or if you want to shrink your dvd then use handbrake or vidcoder and make a smaller mp4.

Thank you for the reply, I know about Handbrake, but didn't know it had that feature, that's probably what I'll do.

That will give the client the audiovisual content of the main title of the DVD, but it won't give him/her the interactive experience of the DVD, should that differ.

If you go that way, remember to use your original edited master (or your NLE timeline) to render/convert to your final copy vs. using your already encoded DVD as source.

Yes, I gave him both options, ISO or individual video files of the chapters. Unfortunately, I don't have the original project file so it will have to be made from a replicated disc.
