I downloaded a BBC series that has closed captions option when viewed on youtube. I use the Plex Media Player to display videos on my TV via Roku. To my knowledge, Plex doesn't support cc.
I don't know how this works exactly, but the captions must have been embedded in the avi file in order for them to work on youtube, no? Is there a way to rip the captions into an srt file?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

You can download the subtitle/captions from youtube. Search for youtube subtitle downloader.
And this is not any capturing. Moving you to our subtitle section. -
Thanks. I just tried keepsubs.com and it downloads cc in srt format. Simple.
