I have a Samsung Blu-Ray Player BD-D5900. I insert my 1 TB HDD and play MKV video files and the files work perfectly but the problem is that it won't play along with the subtitles embedded with it. Please help me out with playing the subs along with the video.

Have tried playing the mkv with the sub as a separate file with the exact same name as the video?

Yes, but I actually wanted to try with the internal subs, any idea.

I think you are out of luck. I cannot recall seeing any Blu-Ray players (or any hardware-based media players for that matter) which can play internal subtitles from .mkv files. Support for internal subtitles in .mkv files only seems to be common with software media players for computers.

Then, the OP needs to buy the same Blu-Ray player that you have, since his can only play external subs. Problem solved.
