Suggest you post the problem on the VSO ConvertXtoDVD forum. It is in English in case you don't speak French. http://forums.vso-software.fr/

thanks for your reply, but is there any other programs like convertxtodvd as I would like to try some

Convertxtodvd does not have issues with avi unless they have some corruption in them. If both v4 and v5 choke it's probably the source clips which have a problem or your codecs need updating. By corruption I mean a glitch in either the audio or the video streams. Try converting the clips in another converter program to see if it struggles also.

A codec is a processing algorithm which is used to compress/interpret a video/audio file.
Some are built into the system, others have to be installed so that various programs can interpret the files you wish to use.
Have you ever installed a codec pack? K-lite or similar? There is no reason for Convertx to struggle with such a basic format unless the codec is broken.
Perhaps try re-installing ffdshow. I have had similar problems with Convertx and a reinstall fixed it straightaway. -

As a side note: I noticed in a previous thread you mention having video with no sound.
I have found many music sites where I can capture in FLV format...these files have no video part.
ConvertX requires BOTH video and audio in a file to process a DVD video. Just a heads up.Last edited by transporterfan; 24th Apr 2014 at 11:02.
