Greetings. Im trying to run rtmpexplorer then rtmpsuck after closing the server out. The issue is its telling me I have to update my flash player. I went in IE and did this, however, after updating im still getting the same message.
I tried setting up a proxy in IE and FF with 127.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.2 on port 1935 but this didnt work. Obviously you cant do this.
Ive also edited the host file directly so it reads 127.0.0.1 "http:\\link\to\site" after running the attrib.exe -R -S -H command on the host file.
Running Either rtmpsrvr or rtmpsuck does nothing. No errors. It just sits there.
How do I get it working with the rtmpexplorer tool or alternatively what am i putting in the host file to make it work?
Im trying to gather rtmp information to create .strm files for use in XBMC.
Windows 7 64 bit.
Cheers!

I am also having trouble making rtmpexplorer work.
I'm trying to download a video from the nbc news website that is here:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/video/inside-dizzying-heights-world-trade-center-31370444
rtmpexplorer does show the web page containing this video, but nothing I do makes the video play or makes rtmpexplorer start recording it. The rtmpexplorer command window just sits there doing nothing.
I am pasting the above url into the box in the other rtmpexplorer window and then hitting its "go" button.
Why is recording video such a constant pain? Isn't there any software that simply works with one click of a button? Even when some video recording software does work, it seems like it isn't long and it stops working on a lot of websites.
If the browser can play all these video without any problem, then why can't the recording software record them without any problem? I do not understand this.
I don't want to have to get into reading web page sources or figuring out what is inside them or what it means or have to run a whole gaggle of utilities. I just would like to find one piece of software where I hit a button and it just works.
Thanks for any and all help. -

Often it is the only way to catch and watch some videos .

rtmpexplorer will never be of any use for videos that aren't sent via rtmp - as is the the case with your linked video.
No, not really. IDM is pretty good for "one click" use, but still far from 100%, and they want a lot of money for IDM.
It takes less the five seconds to view the source and search for the mp4 video. If you don't want to do it, then don't do it. Then you get to decide what to do with those five seconds that you've saved. When I have a spare five seconds, I like to stare at the clouds.
