The blue man is back!
Opinionated, rude, stubborn!
AND the one of the best, most knowledgeble and most respected posters!
His posting in this thread: Why was LP mode recording discontinued over the years
states he hasn't been well for a while.
Visit him at digitalfaq.com for more info about his absence and return.
Best wishes and prayers for recovery and his continued presence here!
Sincerely,
lingyi

Plus one on all the above. And it's very thoughtful of you to have started this thread.
Best wishes to the blue guy.Pull! Bang! Darn! -

Just a rectification: lordsmurf is not stubborn, he is perseverant.
stubborn <==> often wrong
perseverant <==> often RIGHT -
For the "newbies" (with apologies to lingyi):

That definition is WRONG!!!
LOL!!
1. having or showing dogged determination not to change one's attitude or position on something, esp. in spite of good arguments or reasons to do so.
Yes, the fact that I respect him, still does not make him correct 100% of the time
This is the first I heard of him having any health issues
And I found a thread right away over at digitalfaq where he kind of talks about what it is not and his symptoms
All the best to you and I hope it only gets better for you!!!!!!! -
Thanks.
There's actually 4 main posts.
- December 2012: About lordsmurf - FAQ and Updates
- July 2013: False start, too optimistic: Sort of back ... and 246 emails to answer!
- November 2013: False start for online, much offline life-rebuilding to fix first: Guess what? lordsmurf is back!
- April 2014: Back, finally, after almost 18 months mostly offline: post#12 from Guess what? lordsmurf is back!
I think "perseverance" is a good description: "steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success." It was often a painful and frustrating experience (and in some ways still is), but I can at least (mostly) type normally again. That means I can try to come back online more often!Last edited by lordsmurf; 21st Apr 2014 at 21:29.

LS is NEVER WRONG...we just don't understand his true brilliance!
As for my newbie goof...well, I knew you guys would catch and fix it!
LS, thanks for the links to your threads. I see that donations at digitalfaq were going to help with your medical bills. Are you still receiving them? Redwudz, maybe we could do something here to help out also?
I've been here off and on since the VCDHelp days and to me this forum is like family. We get into little arguments once in a while, but in the end it's all good! -

Receiving bills, yes.
Receiving donations, no. In fact, it never really happened. I wish it did.

Trivia: Actually, digitalFAQ.com owns tapehelp.com and vhshelp.com. But they're not used yet.Last edited by lordsmurf; 25th Apr 2014 at 00:45.
