Does anyone have any experience cleaning the brush assemblies in JVC decks? It looks straightforward enough, is there anything I should be careful about?

So, I have now done this.
To any who wish to attempt this in the future, please note the following corrections to what is written in the service manual. This applies to at least the BR-S8XX, BR-S6XX and BR-S5XX decks.
- Remove the connectors from the brush assemblies after the brush assembly has been unscrewed, not before. It is far more difficult to detach the connectors beforehand.
- Remove brush assembly B before brush assembly A, as the guard installed on brush assembly B will making removing brush A difficult. When re-installing the brush assemblies, install brush assembly A first and then brush assembly B. If removed in the wrong order, you risk damaging the brush pins.
Oxidised, dirty and dusty brushes are a cause of 'snow' on the video signal. It is necessary to remove the brushes to access other routine maintenance components such as the head cleaning unit, so it is worth cleaning these whenever they have to be removed.
