  1. I have a 3d projector.
    It plays 3d blurays
    My question is
I see on torrent sites 3d movies listed
    So I downloaded one
It's stored on a wd 2tb hard drive
The drive is pluged into my 3d bluray player
The file only plays in 2d
Is it because it's stored on a hard drive

Don't know of any projectors that are also 3dbd players, so you might be mistaken or referring to 2 different items.

Torrent stuff is basically warez and shouldn't be discussed here.

You don't say what the file(s) in question are, nor type, etc. Need more information.

I doubt that the problem is just because of it being on a hdd.

    Model #s?

Ok, I took a look at your manual. My guess is that the files that you are using are SbS or TaB versions, and your 3dbd player doesn't automatically recognize them as 3d and so doesn't reformat or repackage them, nor does it engage 3d hdmi signaling.

So your projector expects them to just be standard 2d.

Unless you can change the files' formatting into something that the 3dbd player will recognize as 3d, your only option is to manually set your projector into 3d mode. Read up on your "3d sync" options in its menu. It likely is currently set to auto. Change it to "top-bottom" or "side-by-side".
