how to automatically convert mkv to mp4(xvid codec) with the subtitles retained? which can remove the blocks/artifacts when I convert mkv to xvid, increasing video bitrate?

mp4(xvid codec) works well with the neighbor kids' tv

I'm currently using video to video. Is there others apps which are faster in recoding?

Maybe try xvid4psp. But I think you have to load the subtitles manually so you must extract them from the mkv with for example gmkvextractgui.

But have you tried mp4 with h264 on the tv? If so try mkv2mp4. No video reconversion.

Thanks. What's a good video encoding settings in xvid4psp?

I tried h264 but it didn't work. just plain xvid works so I need to reencode the vids I think.

Can I resize the vid to 720 or doesn't matter in 20" ish tv? coz xvid4psp resize it to 640 using this settings?
