Hello,
I have footage shot in 1080i50, but need to down-convert it to SD, for DVD purposes. My only concern is, I will loose both fields of the image, which will result in loosing 50i type motion. Is there any DVD software for Mac, that can burn down to PAL (720 x 576i) without loosing the original motion of 50i.
Thank you.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Is there any explanation why Title of thread is misleading?
To correctly convert from interlaced HD to interlaced SD you need deinterlace your interlaced HD source, as a result you receive 1080p50 video, this video need to be resized to SD (your case to 576p50) later such video need to be reinterlaced.
All this operations can be performed by ffmpeg for example.
