I'm helping the neighbor playing vids from usb in their 20"ish Hyundai lcd tv (I wasn't able to get the exact model).
It can play a vid which according to gspotv2.7 has these specs:
codec = xvid
container = divx style "packed stream" AVI
what's the best conversion of mkv vid to avi or mp4? which one is smaller or better in quality? I need one which have the higher chances of compatibility with tv / dvd player with usb port.
I will also be doing some conversion of mkv vids to avi/mp4 for my brother and sister but I don't know their exact usb player too and they are not to techie to check their players. My best bet are avi and mp4 right?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

As it's an Xvid in an AVI container, with a packed bitstream, I'd first use MPEG4Modifier to unpack it. It only takes a few seconds.
If that doesn't work then maybe look at this sticky - https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/295067-Common-DivX-DVD-Players-AVI-Playback-problems!

thanks very much. I will experiment with all the settings and programs and ask the neighbor's kids what works and what not.
I'm using now Video to Video to convert mkv to mp4 and using its xvid codec/bitrate=768 gives me visible blocks in my 32 tv.
I will try the apps suggested...hacking the Net using typewriter :D -
The kids told me that their tv can't play these:
According to a similar hyundai tv manual that I saw in the net :
Hyundai tv supports Audio/Video Formats: MP3, WMA, MPEG4, Xvid, DivX, VideoCD, SVCD, Picture CD, JPEG
How can I fix them?
How can I make the xvid that can be played not pixelated or with blocked in big tv? Increased the video bitrate to 1024?Last edited by d_unbeliever; 20th Mar 2014 at 18:05.
