  1. I convert AAC 5.1 to AC3 with ffdshow on the fly, so my AV receiver can get AC3 signal from the HTPC through HDMI.

Now, I would like to get AC3 (Dolby sound) from FLAC 5.1. I assume that I have to convert the FLAC 5.1 as well, so the AV receiver can get Dolby digital signal, right?

Is there a media player that is able to encode FLAC 5.1 to AC3?

What is the easiest way to do so?

    Thanks for any advice.

  2. Why not use ffdshow like you do with AAC 5.1?
Aside from ffdshow I know of no solution other than reencoding the files before playback.
