I bought a used Asus P6T SE off ebay. I could not get the board to overclock past 3.2Ghz no matter how I tweaked it. I noticed that CPUID was reporting the board as a P6T,not a P6T SE. I checked the BIOS number and it matched the P6T,not the P6T SE. I googled the problem and discovered the SE version was sometimes cross-flashed by users to a P6T to enable SLI which the SE board did not support. I got a 50% refund from the seller and kept the board. I bought a new BIOS chip from Asus with the proper SE bios and installed it. The board now overclocks to 4.0Ghz with no problem. Apparently the cross-flash also severely limits overclocking.
