PC that I just got (used) has it installed. I don't have it on any of my other PC's and don't think I need it or will use it. Am I missing something here, since I am trying to clean up the clutter of HP installed stuff.

For YOU? Sounds like you might not need it right now, in which case you can always uninstall it and then later re-install it (or install a newer version direct from Apple) when you do need it. If you don't think you need it, you probably don't.
For others? It may not be the main player it used to, but for anyone who deals with Original Camera files in .MOV format (incl. myself), or who encodes & distributes to Mac or iOS users (incl. myself), It would be foolish NOT to use it. And the fact that the Pro version is still only ~$29USD makes it a good deal.
