  1. Thanks for all the tips... do you know if the coolpix p7100 can be equipped with an additional lens to help me get better optical zoom (just fyi this video was shot with no zoom at all on the camera...

    If it can have another lens added on any tips on what to buy ?

  2. Nikon sells an adapter ring and a wide angle converter for that camera. You can probably find a 3rd party telephoto adapter. Also, it only shoots 720p video, so blowing it up to 1080 is eroding your quality even further.

    Another tip: take care when choosing free video software from consumer-oriented video and PC sites. True, they are designed for the novice with no technical expertise and are usually easy to use. But they are inflexible, and are almost always designed for convenience rather than quality. At a video site such as this, you can find better free tools in our "Software" section (see the links at the top of this page). While a lot of these are easy to use, almost all of them require some level of learning. That isn't such a bad thing if your interest is in better output. But you don't have to be an engineer to use better software.
