Is there a way to rip a Youtube playlist into a single video?
I know a few ways to save an individual video.

    But this playlist :http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE6A2F3ACDDA10C28
joins a series of 48 videos into a continuous video.
Importantly, it cuts the credits of each clip so the action flows continuously.
i.e., it doesn't just play each video completely; I could handle just concatenating them.

Is there a way to record it, or get a cutlist in some usable format ?

I have used jDownloader in the past but I don't know if it can handle a play list like you describe.

    No.
jD will get all the separate, complete, videos. Not combined and trimmed as played in Youtube.

I have never seen a youtube downloader that can automatically trims them like the playlist.

Let me know if you ever find one.

How about a way to get the playlist in some readable form, that includes the index points (start and end of each video)?

But it looks like I'm going to have to trim and join them manually.

The YouTube playlists are based on the time codes. However, when you join them you will have to do it on an I-frame. Even if you get YouTube timecodes, the trims will not be exact and will be off by some seconds, because the timecodes will not match the location of the I-frames. You can get frame accuracy only with a reencode of the file. There are programs that will do a smart reencode of h.264 and encode only the portion of the video that need to be.

    Yes.
    That's what I want.

I can reencode to single frame accuracy with Avisynth,
Just a long list of Trim()s which I could derive from the timecodes, so I can handle the rest.
