I just put together a 12 minute file consisting of clips from multiple sources (original clips were all encoded to WMV with AVS Video Converter) and I have problem with the output file. The border flickers slowly, as seen here (small file):

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/4dcznl

Actually... not just the borders. Looks like the whole thing kinda shifts up and down for some reason.

I experimented with various settings in the Adobe Media Encoder, but they were all more or less like this:

    Codec: MainConcept H.264 Video
TV standard: PAL or NTSC (I don't think that matters, the clip is going to be played on computers exclusively)
Frame rate: 25 (same as all the clips)
    Field order: none (progressive)
    Profile: main
    Level: 4.0
Bitrate encoding: VBR, 1 pass (target: 1.5, max: 2.3)
    Multiplexer: MP4

    Other options are unchecked.

    What am I doing wrong?

  2. It looks like it was (poorly) deinterlaced at some point, that might explain some of the issues - but you would expect the border issue alternating on every frame , not "slowly" like this

What does it look like before AVS video converter ?
What does it look like after AVS video converter ?
What does it look like in PP ? Does issue occur there before AME ?
What were the PP sequence settings ?
What were the clip interpretation settings ?

There are some duplicates, possibly from encoding it at 25fps if this was a 24p clip

It's jumping every second of time. Eight seconds = eight jumps.

The source was a decent BRrip (over 3GB). There were no problems with that file.

What does it look like after AVS video converter ?

The quality is slightly lower, but there are no visible issues.

What does it look like in PP ? Does issue occur there before AME ?

No issues in the preview window (AKA program monitor).

What were the PP sequence settings ?

What were the clip interpretation settings ?

    Where do I find those?

  5. Right click the clip in the clip bin, and you can interpret the file. For example, if it "thinks" the clip is interlaced , you could interpret it as progressive

Your render settings are progressive, but your sequence is interlaced lower field first. Change the sequence to progressive (no fields)

Right. I must've missed that. I'll try that.

All right! Changing the redering settings of the sequence worked. I made a new sequence after that change and just copied everything from the old one.
