  1. Hello how are you all doing? I have a FLV file and I would like to know what would be a good preset so I won't lose quality when burning on a disc. Thanks

    Just burn it?

Or do you want to convert it to dvd-video?

Or avi divx/xvid for dvd players?

  3. Convert it to DVD video and also avi

  4. For video-DVD: Use AVStoDVD, QtlMovie (if you need hardcoded subtitles with nicer fonts) or DVDStyler (if you need complex navigation/menus).
For AVI: In MediaCoder select AVI as the container on the "Container" tab. That' s pretty much all that can be said with the info given.

A shot could be: On the "Video" tab select "Xvid" as format, "2-pass" as "Rate mode" and a "Video Bitrate" of 2500 kbps. On the "Audio" tab select "LC-AAC" as the "Format", "Rate Mode" as "CBR" and "192 kbps". Leave the "Picture" tab unchanged. On the "Time" tab select a 1 min clip for test.

But why AVI? and why MediaCoder?

Wait a couple of days before you bump a thread.

Reconverting crappy flv is nothing we spend that much time find best settings for. Just try default settings in avstodvd for dvd and mediacoder or xvid4psp for avi divx/xvid.
