  1. Hello,

    Actually I used Megui for the encode of a movie using x265 encoder. But now as the movie is maded and I have muxed it but now I wanna cut a 1min sample of that video but I am not finding any suitable software to do that. Before I use to use Boilsoft video cutter for cutting xvid and x264 video file but its not working upon x265 video file. Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Moving you to our editing section.

    Doesn't megui include a simple cutter?

    You could also use makesample that just cuts from the beginning to a specific file size.

    http://download.divx.com/hevc/mkvtoolnix6.2.0-promised_land_rovi_v1.0.4.zip

    Download and copy mmg.exe from mkvmerge 5.8.0 (I use this one).

    Then run mmg.exe (Ignore the warning) and use the splitting feature in Global tab.

    (Please note that this format of mkv might not be complaint in future).

    Keep your current installation as is.

    Do this.
    1. Download the zip from divx.com. Extract in a separate place in your HDD.
    2. Download mkvmerge 5.8.0 portable. From here.
    http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/win32/mkvtoolnix-unicode-5.8.0.7z
    3.From the "mkvtoolnix-unicode-5.8.0.7z" TAKE ONLY the mmg.exe
    4.Copy-paste it to the divx one.
    5. Run mmg.exe.
    6. Ignore the warning.
    7. Use splitting option in Global tab.

    Official mkvmerge does not support HEVC/h265 streams for now.

    Use the latest nightly build of mp4box. It can also split it I think.

    It used to be like this.

    "Path to-------\MP4Box.exe" -split 60 "Path to-------\source.mp4"

    This will split original file into separate 1 min mp4 files.

    -------------------------------------------------------

    If megui muxed it, then it probably will also split it. Use the mp4box in "...../megui/tools/mp4box/mp4box.exe"

    Cutting on non key frames will probably greatly complicate things. I'm not aware of any h.265 editors that will do smart editing.

    then i think the command line will be

    "Path to-------\MP4Box.exe" -splitx a:b "Path to-------\source.mp4"

    a=starting second
    b=ending second

    In these cases for acurate splitting I recommend videoredo, however I don't think it supports hevc yet.

    If this doesnt work extract the h265 stream (-raw 1) and do the rest with mkvmerge (Dont forget to select the fps before splitting in mkvmerge)
