Bitrate too low ? Try setting the Xvid encoder to do one pass, CQ = 3.

Also, select MPEG quantization type instead of H.263

One pass at a constant bitrate is always liable to give the poorest results if the bitrate is on the low side.

Either try CQ encoding (if it's available), or 2-pass encoding.

  8. Try encode with VidCoder to mp4 or mkv
and see result in VLC player
what the source DVD, avi... ?

That's too low for 1280x532 and fast action material. Do what davexnet suggested, use target quantizer mode at 3.

This is in Zone options, right?

  12. It's a single pass encoding method called constant quantizer, or target quantizer. The bitrate will be whatever it needs to be. A Constant quantizer of 2 is basically maximum quality for Xvid. The higher the quantizer the lower the quality. 3 is probably a reasonable compromise between quality and file size. The resulting bitrate will also be a good indication of the minimum bitrate you should be using for 2 pass encoding.

Instead of configuring Xvid for 1st pass or 2nd pass, try "single pass".

Set the "Encoding Type" to "Single Pass". Press the "Target Bitrate (kbps)" button to make it say "Target Quantizer". The default quantizer is 4. 3 will look better. 2 or 1 even better -- but file sizes starts ballooning up. You can use non integer values like 2.5 too.

  14. i encoding 2passes with target quantier 3, picture is much better, but the file is for 1/3 bigger then before

    tnx for helping

PublicHD is a torrent site. You do realize discussion of warez is against forum rules, right?

  17. What size is now?
What purpose of re-encoding? to make smaller size file?

Now is 3,46 Gb, before 2,58 Gb
I want small size, with minimum loss of quality.

  19. As I write before: encode with VidCoder to mp4 or mkv
press on Preview button to encode 1 min, to see quality example
    in Video tab set size:

You can't have both. Switching to h.264 will get you better quality at the same size.

  29. Some movies require more bitrate than others.
