    Hyia!

Anyone knows how to use filters / effects in Vegas Video in order to get the effect of the video
to look like it's on a pinball machine display?

I can do it by batch every single fram in photoshop and then re-make them into a video file, but this job
is very time consuming and I would like to get it done in Vegas direktly if possibel.

here's the guide for the photoshop method if you want to see what's it looks like

    Any help appreciated!

    Cheers!

  2. Make the video sepia toned (if that's what you want) and overlay a black "graph paper" grid.

  4. Just make one with a paint program. Black lines on a white background. I should only take a minute or two with with copy/paste operations. You can use the image as it's own transparency map.

  6. For example, a 720x480 grid:

Size:	2.3 KB
ID:	22333

Click on the image a few times to get the full size version.

    Before/after sample:

That was done with AviSynth but the concept will work in Vegas. Invert the colors of the grid to make the transparency map.

  8. The youtube vid is too dark. Can you brighten it up somewhat?

  9. Similar effect http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=169744 - there is special filter for virtualdub or alternative avisynth scripts.

I also advise to downscale video by 2 or 3 (4) - depend from kernel size and just before applying mask (overlay) increase video by simple point resize algorithm (to prevent shimmering/phase flickering) an to keep maximum amount of details.

  11. If you want to brighten it more, just overlay it onto itself (place a copy on another track) with the "add" layer compositing mode. Change the layer opacity to modulate the effect (stronger or weaker). You can repeat it several times or use other layer blend modes
