    I'm trying to convert a 6.7 gig film down to a smaller size. It plays fine and exports fine in MPEG Streamclip, but whenever there's a cut to black, Streamclip freezes the last frame until the next non-black film begins, erasing the black space. Anyone know how to get it to stop doing this?

    To what format are you exporting to ?

    Maybe try handbrake if you are shrinking to a mp4.

    What are your settings? Upload a screenshot of the "export" screen.

    You write that it exports fine so is the freeze in playing back the exported video from within Streamclip? How about in QT Player? Are the black frames even there if you use the cursor keys to move frame-by-frame?
