if export Videos from Premiere Pro or the Adobe Media Encoder with the x254vfw codec, it is kinda slow. Any idea what could slow it down?

  2. Try forcing the number of threads to 12 in x264vfw.

  4. There are different versions of x264vfw. The one I use has a box where you can enter your own command line options. Enter "--threads=12" (without the quotes) if you have such a box. If not, look for a threads option.

12 threads because you have an 8 core CPU. You usually get the best performance with 1.5 times the number of cores.

Probably not. But you can play with the number to see what works best. If you can't get the CPU usage up near 100 percent by changing the number of x264 threads then the problem is in the other software.
