  1. Originally I had an ADVC300 and an 8710 TBC. (both now gone)

    I have a Panasonic S-VHS player ... and I want to carry out capture of a bunch of PAL VHS tapes a mix of VHS and S-VHS
    Presuming as before I run Firewire direct into PC and use WINDV .... what hardware would be the best to get.

    This is only a 'family' project on converting tapes .......... would appreciate advice on what to buy.

    Post capture I will use Vegas Movie Studio to edit and then create DVD.

    From the other topic, DV is a compromise. To achieve that now you either get a capture device that outputs DV (???) or loop the video through a DV camera.

    A better option is a dedicated capture device which allows you to capture lossless.
