I am getting a "cannot open video part of the file" when trying to import an .avi file into TMPG DVD Author Works 5..
The full file type is listed as pdtv.xvid-w4f.avi.
I am using Windows XP SP3 so the post I found dealing with Windows 7 woudlnt work. Is there somethign I can do or something I can install (codec or something) to get this to work and be able to import the file in and then to DVD?
The Video plays well in VLC and doesnt seem to have any issues.. I have also changed the file to .xivd and then .divx and thought it still played fine in VLC, same error in TMPG
I have 11 files like this that I want to burn.

media player classic home cinema will play the file.
TmpGenc DVD Works likely needs to be fed mpeg2 video.
Install Format Factory, drag the .avi file to the open program after install, select "all to MPG", set everything to your DVD standard 16:9, 4:3 - bitrate, audio and so on. Make certain you note the folder to create the .mpg file in - don't lose where it is.
You can open the file and author it.;/ l ,[____], Its a Jeep thing,
