Sorry if i am posting this in wrong forum. I am new here
I got a copy of a DVD Disk with a lot of music videos - None of these music videos has their own track so i had to record them manually with VLC Player
After 20 seconds of recording VLC suddently crashes with no reason. I never had this problem with VLC - It works really optimal for MPG recording..
Here is a video:
My VLC version is
VLC media player 2.0.8 Twoflower
I have enough hard disk space in both of my partitions C:/ and D:/

Have you tried this before ? I do not know but if you are also using vlc to playback the disk there could be some conflict. I have only ever used the recorder for some stream recording.
Better to do a standard rip of the disk to your HDD, use vob2mpg to create a single vob and use mpeg editing tools to copy the individual songs from the vob.
It's the same difference whether the files are still on the disk or on your HDD. Vlc is using its routines to play the disk and may not be able to handle parallel recording of the same material.
I will echo hech54's suggestion of using avidemux if you want individual files from the disk. You apply copy to both video and audio and just mark in and out the clip you require.
I would do that before re-authoring. Chapter markers is an option and you would still be able to rip individual songs from a new disk.
Make sure you used:
