I uninstalled then reinstalled Shark007 32 and 64 Standard pack for Windows7. Now, Virtual Dub shows a black screen in both panes saying missing codecs and something too tiny to read in parentheses after it. Maybe AVC1.

Nothing was changed in VDub settings. The plugins in Plugins 32 are the same, fcchandler Quicktime plugin in there same as before.

    What should I do?

edit: never mind. I re-installed Windows 7 Codec Pack which I guess might have been removed when I installed the shark007 packs. MP4 now shows up in VDub.

As near as I know, that is one of the features of the Shark007 codec pack. It uninstalls what it considers extra codecs you do not need to play videos. I am assuming Shark007 considers the VFW codecs used by VirtualDub are not needed to play movies.
