Black Screen w/No Audio. Using Sony Vegas 10

HI guys. I was hoping you could be of some help. Whenever I render a video, the video in .avi format is just black and there's no audio at all. It even says that the video's time length isn't even the same as in the project...I have no idea what to do.

Maybe start by telling us what's going IN to Vegas and whether you can see it there.

Usually we'd say send a mediainfo report, but all that information is available right there in your Vegas media browser.

I added a picture made in GIMP and saved it as a .jpg and added some music to it, as a .mp3, and I get nothing in return. I can see it when its playing in Vegas, but not after rendering.

I believe it is something with the render settings. I was trying the "HD 1080-60i YUV". After screwing around, its something with that. Uncompressed looks and works fine, but its somewhat laggy/glitchy.
