I am doing a project where I have to lower the sound effects for 8 seconds (say), and then raise them to normal again. What is the easiest way to accomplish this in VideoPad?

I do not use VideoPad but did find this via a Google search:

    Fading in VideoPad Video Editor
Here we can “add” or “remove” fading. There are as follows :
    1. Add fading to our audio track is by clicking “Edit->Sound->Fade in/Fade out” in the top context menu or just right-click on your audio track and select “Fade in” or “Fade out” and set fading duration in seconds. The other way to work with fading is to create fading points on your track’s waveform. With a audio clip selected, in the Clip Preview area, click on the yellow line in the middle of the waveform to create anchor points. You can then drag these points up and down any way you like. Up will increase the volume and down will decrease the volume.
    2. Removing any particular fade point, by right-click on it and select “Remove fade point”. To remove all the fade points right-click on your audio track and select “Remove fade points”.

Thank you Brainiac. I'll try what you suggested.
