I have hulu plus account and I'm trying to get/download a tv series. So far I've tried programs like jdownloader, hiplatinum download & internet download manager with no luck. Only the advertisements can be grabbed. I also tried rmtpdumperhelper and keep getting error/failed messages.

I prefer not to record/screen capture because downloading in an mp4 file is I think the best format.

I've looked around the forum but couldn't find any solution. Any ideas?

Then most likely you prefer NOT to ever have a copy of the file.

Hulu uses encryption on its newer and/or more valuable content to protect against exactly what you want to do.

Well I just wanted a clean format of the video without advertisements and unnecessary cuts. Are there still any other alternatives?

It is currently possible, but do it quick before they find another way to put up a wall. Too complex for me, personally.

I'm doubtful that vaporeon800's links have solutions that still work, but you could always try. If they don't work, you'll have to use a stream recorder and record it real time while it streams.

As mentioned, if you can download it'll only be temporary. The sites that stream video and are actually making money from it are constantly changing encryption and protocols. It'd be a running battle.

I agree that screen cap is probably your best option.

i realize that your downside to screen capturing is reencoding and the expected assumption that the quality won't be as nearly the same, but as was hinted by others, its truely your best option. what you (and others) need to do is learn the art of reencoding from screen captures.

please give some links to the content you are attempting to download.
