  1. I have had good results using Streamclip until now. When I try to load this one particular MPEG 2 file, Streamclip immediately freezes up. The file opens fine in Mpg2Cut2 and plays fine in VLC and WMP 11. I searched for info using 'Streamclip freezes' but found nothing that addresses freezing when opening a file. Any clues?

Here is the MediaInfo for this file:

As I recall from my efforts to use it for editing my recorded TV shows, the Windows version of MPEG Streamclip has difficulty opening HD MPEG-2 TS files, and your file is 1080i.

  3. Thanks, uq

This is the only video I have at 1080i, so what you posted tends to make sense.

I've had the same problem with recordings from standard DVB TV Mpeg2. I think the problem
lies with the high bit rate. When I loaded those same files into Mpeg2Cut2, there was no
    problem.
