I am trying to capture from my DVCR to my Canon Elura 100 camera for the purpose of using the Canon's ADC to convert the video to digital to put on DVD.
I can't get the cam to even see that there is an analog source connected. I don't think that the VCR is sending any signal.
I looked in the menu and have not found any options for sending the video/audio over composite even though there are jacks for it. I have tried unplugging the HDMI but that does not work either.
I have the DVHS that has HDMI output but no digital tuner.

If a hdmi cable is plugged in it usually cuts out any other output signal. But you already tried that.

Front composite jacks are usually video/audio in and rear ones are video/audio out.

But the issue could be the camera as the composite connections on that could also just be video/audio out

Check Page 65 of the manual. Also check the connections as shown on that page of the manual. The output and input sets are next to each other. Why are there two composite outputs ?

The manual also describes of how to 'turn off' hdmi without un-plugging it.

I did not check this but the remote should also have an 'input select' button. You may have to toggle that between the various outputs.

there is no input select on the remote.
I am attempting again to get this to work.
I still don't know how to turn HDMI off, whenever I hit the button to turn it off the light goes out but it is still outputing through HDMI.
my settings are tv output 2 allto480i
and the hdmi led is off

Buy an HDMI capture card for $55 and stop living in the past.

(Still wondering what the quality of that would be like with these DVHS models.)
