    Dear All,

I don’t know much about video conversion. But very often I need to convert videos to play through the USB port of my Samsung DVD Music System cum DVD player. I am including the compatibility matrix of the player as an attachment.

Can you please let me know:

    1. I convert various video like: mkv, mp4 etc. to the supported formats (pl see the attachment for supported formats). Sometimes the conversions take a long time. Seeing the table, can you please let me know the best compatible format, to which I can convert quickly and easily. Also, preserve the quality to some extent.
    2. I see that the table mentions versions of some of the formats. Does that mean I need to use CODECs of that particular version? Certain videos that I converted to WMV using Total Video converter did not work, probably the WMV version was a mismatch. There was no way to specify that in the converter software.
    3. Any other tool that works better? Either free or paid.
I thank you very much in advance for solving my query.

I am aware that my system is from the ancient times, I bought it 7 yrs back. Want to stick with it for some more time.

    Faith

Convert to avi with xvid video and mp3 audio instead. See if can find any avi/divx dvd player preset in total video converter.

Or try something else like video to video converter, choose the avi preset or freemake video converter, choose "to avi" and select the tv quality preset.
