Hi guys, I've been trying this all day but getting nowhere.
I have a 16gb 1080p 3d h-sbs x264 mkv file. Unfortunately it appears that my Sharp Aquos TV does not support 5.1 audio when loaded from a usb pen.
What is the best way, if any, to downgrade the sound to stereo? I have tried avidemux and handbrake but I'm not sure they can do this task with a 3d movie.

It's most likely nothing to do with the fact the audio is multi-channel and everything to do with it being DTS audio. You can keep it multichannel when converting it to another format such as AC3 or AAC, but you can also down-mix it to stereo.
This GUI should be fairly straightforward. http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/3...-and-Extractor
The option to downmix to stereo is under the effects/filters button.
MKVMergeGUI will open the MKV and let you replace the old audio with the new, then save it as a new MKV.
thanks very much, I'll give this a go and report back
thanks again this worked!
I'm glad to have helped!
