  1. Hi all,

    I'm looking to see if a tool exists, that will accept the input of either a wav for avi file and scan through it and find all the blank spots, and report the timecodes.

    Essentially, what I am doing is capture numerous 2hr 8mm tapes that have 2-3 second blank spots throughout the tape. Instead of manually trying to find them all, I'm wondering if there is a way at least to automate the process of finding the spots. I would then use VirtualDub to remove them.

    Actually, this is done often to split a single track of a music album into separate tracks.
    Look for a feature like"silence detection" in audio tools.

    E.g., the Audacity audio editor has this Silence Finder
