Sony Vegas 11 playing very slow x264 videos format in the preview window

Hello.
i have a problem with Sony Vegas 11 on the preview window with x264/h264 videos..

They are playing very slowly and with lots of dropped frames and it is almost impossible to work this way ..

This does not happen with videos that their codec is "Lagarith Lossless"
but i can't store so big files...

i need a solution please !

Umm...get a faster computer?

These Videos playing perfectly in all my video players so the proplam is not the computer

The problem is you are trying to edit with files that are very processor intensive -- that's different than just playng them. Lagarith files take up a lot of space, but they're much easier for the computer to deal with, as you've experienced.

You need to either get a faster computer or convert your files to an easier codec like cineform, DNxHD or all I-frame h.264. The files will be bigger.

did you try increasing the dynamic ram preview max amount? in preferences/video.
